The Carnegie UK Trusts Embedding Wellbeing in Northern Ireland project is offering financial and in-kind support for the Community Planning Partnerships working in the local authority areas of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council; Derry City and Strabane District Council; and Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council. The project is supporting the Community Planning Partnerships to overcome challenges in implementing their Community Plan which they have identified as a priority, and has a commitment to policy learning on improving wellbeing outcomes.

Given the similar statutory duties to improve local wellbeing outcomes placed on local authorities and their partners in Northern Ireland and Wales, the Trust worked with the Bevan Foundation to develop a two-day study visit to Wales. Representatives of the Embedding Wellbeing in Northern Ireland project participants and members of the project Advisory Group undertook a process of mutual learning and exchange on 21-22 March 2019. This report by the Bevan Foundation outlines the key messages from the formal sessions and informal discussions at the visit to help assist policy learning on improving wellbeing across the UK and Ireland, and internationally.
