In November 2018, Carnegie UK collaborated with Young Scot to explore young people’s experience of kindness. The project was designed in parallel to the Carnegie’s Kindness Innovation Network and aimed to provide a specific focus on young people, who may have different perceptions and experiences of kindness.
This report brings together young people’s reflections from two workshops conducted in November 2018. It reflects on some issues that may be considered specific to young people, such as school life and social media. But the major themes are analogous to those that we identified in previous work: participants reflected on the role of social norms, the influence of pressure and stress, and the ways that the physical environment can affect our interactions with others.
