The Trusts Embedding Wellbeing in Northern Ireland project is providing financial and in-kind support to the Community Planning Partnerships working in the following local authority areas to implement a local wellbeing outcomes approach:
- Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council;
- Derry City and Strabane District Council; and
- Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council.
The Community Planning Partnerships are receiving support from the Trust on the two themes of co-production and shared leadership. This report, written by Vivid Economics, is a Natural Capital Account for Derry City and Strabane District which demonstrates the value that public green and blue spaces owned by the local authority provide for the wellbeing of citizens. The Natural Capital Account outlines the economic value of green and blue public spaces for mental wellbeing; physical health; local recreation; and carbon sequestration, and provides recommendations for how the benefits of public greenspaces can be enhanced to achieve higher value for a greater proportion of the population.
