Life in the UK data dashboard

This dashboard brings together results from our Life in the UK Index, which tracks collective wellbeing across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

The index aims to help governments across the UK focus their attention on the things that really matter to people, and to help us understand whether we are collectively living better or worse over time.

Explore data from the first three years of the index, broken down by jurisdiction and demographic group. Data from 6,500 to 7,000 people is collected in May each year over one week, providing a consistent snapshot of wellbeing trends.

This is the first time we have made the data available in this way. Looking ahead, we intend to explore different ways of sharing data to ensure it’s user-friendly.

Notes

  • Where base sizes are lower than 50 people, we have removed this data from the dashboard. This data can be found within the full data tables (2023, 20242025) which include full statistical analysis of all the survey questions which sit behind the wellbeing scores.
  • Due to technical limitations, it was only possible to label 2023 and 2025 data but not 2024 data.
